Parental Acknowledgement – Youth Code of Conduct for Junior Members Below 21
I, the undersigned Parent/Guardian, hereby acknowledge and confirm that:
1. I have read, reviewed, and fully understand the Youth Code of Conduct for Junior Members Below 21 of The American Club (“The Club”).
2. I have shared, explained, and ensured that my child(ren) have read, understood, and acknowledged all provisions of this Youth Code of Conduct.
3. I understand and accept that my child(ren)’s use of The Club facilities is a privilege and not a right, and that this privilege is directly linked to and derived from my membership with The Club.
4. I acknowledge that my child(ren) are required, at all times while on The Club premises, to:
- Abide by all Club Bylaws, Constitution, and House Rules
- Treat all members, guests, and staff politely and with respect
- Treat The Club’s property and premises with care, and that I may be held responsible for any damages caused
- Behave safely, appropriately, and dress suitably in all areas of The Club
- Use lobbies, entrances, stairways, and common areas only for their intended purposes, and not for loitering or play
- Refrain from bringing outside food or beverages onto Club premises
- Refrain from inappropriate public displays of affection
- Refrain from illegal activities, including but not limited to smoking, alcohol consumption, possession or use of illegal drugs, weapons, or other prohibited items
5. I further acknowledge and accept the guest-related obligations applicable to my child(ren), including that:
- Guest privileges are a privilege, not a right
- Junior Members aged 12–18 may introduce no more than two guests at a time
- Junior Members aged 18–25 may introduce guests only in accordance with the Constitution and By-laws
- The same guest may not be introduced more than once per month
My child(ren) are responsible for the conduct and behavior of their guests, and misuse of guest privileges may result in revocation
6. I acknowledge that my child(ren) must not bring “nuisance items” (as determined by Management and/or the General Committee) onto The Club premises, and that such items may be confiscated immediately, with potential referral to the Disciplinary Committee.
7. I acknowledge that the Youth Code of Conduct represents general behavioral guidelines, is not exhaustive, and that my child(ren) are expected to exercise common sense and good judgment, and to seek guidance from Club staff or responsible adults when in doubt.
8. I understand and accept that any breach, depending on its frequency and/or severity, may result in disciplinary actions including, but not limited to:
- Reprimand for unacceptable behavior
- Verbal or written warnings, with Parent/Guardian notification
- Immediate removal from The Club premises for the remainder of the day
- Temporary or permanent revocation of the American Club Youth Card
- Suspension or revocation of some or all junior privileges
- Referral of myself and/or my child(ren) to The Club’s Disciplinary Committee
